Platform Components Overview

📥 File Intake Service

Detects new or uploaded files in monitored storage and triggers structured processing. It validates each file for required format, size, and metadata. Approved files move to trusted storage, while rejected files are quarantined. A readiness message is then published to signal downstream systems that the file passed intake and the data payload is ready

📜 Registration Service

Provides reference data for each client application that uses the platform. It enables the system to identify which application owns a file, interpret the storage location, and determine communication rules for downstream messaging. While it doesn’t alter or process files, it defines client-specific boundaries like allowable file types and size limits, ensuring the platform aligns with each application’s capabilities.

🧠 Classifier Service (stage 2)

Applies customizable machine learning models to determine document type and, when needed, splits compound files into individual units. It enriches documents with routing labels and classification tags, allowing the system to adapt processing rules per client or file type. Failures trigger fallback classification and formal error reporting via the problem topic.

🧪 Extractor Service

Extracts structured data from documents using OCR, entity recognition, or third-party AI services. It serves as the universal translator, turning visual or semi-structured content into system-readable form. All results—confident or not—are stored in NoSQL storage, and low-confidence data can flag for manual inspection.

📊 Status-Check Service

Observes system-wide events to maintain audit trails, processing timelines, and status records. It answers operational questions like “What’s the state of File X?” or “Which files failed this morning?” It’s both a debugging utility and a reporting engine, built to retain transparency across a distributed pipeline.
